If visual art once served as a medium reflecting the social consciousness of its time, today, that role has largely shifted to the images presented in the media. In this sense, this work is a form of research comparing how the history of such ingrained inequality is represented in modern advertising and how much has truly changed when viewed alongside historical artworks. It also serves as a form of self-reflection on how I subconsciously monitor myself as a woman. By placing mirrors on the face, it also questions the viewer: in what ways do you observe and judge yourself?
